Celebrating Amanda's remarkable 25 years of dedication to Overton children

Amanda joined the organisation in the September of the 2000/01 academic year and has dedicated over a quarter of a century to providing outstanding early years education for local children.

She qualified in professional childcare in 1983, securing the prestigious National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB) accreditation – the gold standard at the time in specialist training for those working with young children.

A committed professional, Amanda has applied her extensive experience in practical care and the emotional needs of young children to oversee the continued growth and development of Overton Preschool Playgroup.

Supported by an incredible team, the childcare charity has become an established, trusted and well-loved part of the community; always retaining its central ethos as a caring and nurturing environment for an entire generation of Overton residents.

Overton Preschool Playgroup’s annual May Fair takes place on Saturday 16 May at St Luke’s Hall, Winchester Street, and offers enjoyable activities for all the family.

This year’s fun and festivities promise to be even more special, providing children, parents, carers and the entire village community with the chance to thank Amanda for 25 years of steadfast service.

“I’m so proud to be part of such a wonderful, caring and community-focused childcare organisation. 

"We simply couldn’t do what we do without such a passionate and supportive team. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by a fantastic group, some of whom have been with us almost as long as I have.

“Our approach has always been to do our best for children, parents and for Overton, and it’s lovely that we are now welcoming children of the villagers who I first looked after when they themselves were young children.”
